Ivan Aivazovsky's real name was Hovhannes Aivazian.

Ivan Aivazovsky was not only a painter but also a patron of the arts. The first Armenian Brandy appeared with his involvement.

The artist helped his relative, the merchant Nerses Tairov, build a distillery in Yerevan.

From an initial output of vodka and wine, the distillery transitioned to brandy production in 1887, thereby laying the groundwork for the globally recognized Armenian brand that exists today
